auto transmit-ion cars under 10lakh

Honda City City: The City 'manual' is a piece of cake. Why on earth would you need an 'automatic' to come between you and the driving pleasure? But, a few lazy bums (or rather arms) must have asked for it and hence they got it. Despite the automatic, the City hasn't lost much of its sharpness. The 5-speed automatic is a treat, even though it demotes you from the 'one-in-control-of-the-car' status and the transmission chooses its on gears without much of your say. But, all is not lost. The Honda has given you paddle shifts, just in case you don't feel completely ignored. You don't agree with the gear selection, you need to downshift further to overtake, press your thumb and the car scorches ahead at your command. Don't play down the AT as dumb yet. The intelligent AT of the city does respond to your pedal pushes. If you push it with some intent, the AT senses your need to overtake and downshifts to ease it. Price: Rs 9,77,500

Hyundai Verna If you want an automatic transmission clubbed with a diesel engine then Hyundai's Verna is the car for you. The Verna's CRDi automatic box is again the same tried and tested 4-speed box used in the i10 and i20. Only difference is the gearbox has been altered a little with taller gear ratios to deal with the high torque. Also, the turbo lag in the Verna AT is much less compared to the Verna manual making the congested city drives a lot of fun. The AT transmission clearly makes the Verna a metrocity car, but no paddle shifts takes the fun out of highway driving. Price: Rs 9,02,000

Hyundai i20 i20 automatic box is the same 4-speed box as used in the i10. The i20 AT is mated with a 1.4L GAMMA petrol engine (instead of 1.2l in the i10), making your feel a little underpowered at times with a constant urge to downshift . Sadly, there are no paddle shifts to meet that urge. The Automatic Transmission i20 uses a 4-speed gearbox with an overdrive lock switch. Price: Starts at Rs 7,48,000

Hyundai i10 i10 provides automatic transmission in three of its variants namely Magna, Sports and Asta (with sunroof). All three variants are available with 1.2l Kappa engine. The 4-speed auto-box of the i10 is quite handy especially when caught in the city traffic. The gear shifts are more or less precise, and you don't miss the manual much. The auto-box has a tendency to downshift a little too often (especially in bumper-to-bumper traffic) to draw power leading to low fuel efficiency. On seamless highways the i10 automatic behaves as good as the manual, except when you are overtaking you'd wish it was on a lower gear. Price: Starts at Rs 5,2,0050 gear.

Swift Dzire Maruti Suzuki India has launched the much-awaited 2012 model of their popular sedan ‘Swift Dzire’ in Indian Market. New Maruti Swift Dzire is based on the 2011 model of Swift hatchback which went on sale in August, 2011 in India, promising better dynamics, increased performance and improved CO2 emissions and better fuel economy. Maruti Suzuki India has limited the length of new Swift DZire under four metres to get the excise benefits (excise duty is10 percent on vehicles under 4 metres and 22 percent above 4 metres in length). As expected because of this benefit the new Swift Dzire is cheaper in comparison to the 2011 models. The base model of petrol Swift Dzire is priced at Rs. 4,79,000 (Ex-Showroom New Delhi) and base model of diesel is priced at Rs. 5,80,000 (Ex-Showroom New Delhi). The new DZire has at least 150 new features compared to the existing one. The company, however, will continue to produce the old DZire in stripped down versions to target the fleet segment. It is exepcted that Maruti will rename the sedan to cater the fleet services.

Mahindra XUV 500

www.small-10car.blogspot.com

The Mahindra XUV 500 came as a surprise to Indian car enthusiasts. Conceptualized with the aim of creating an altogether new category between the Scorpio and high end SUVs, the XUV500 is the next generation SUV targeted at Generation X. At Rs 10.80 lakh, this gargantuan of a vehicle is worth every penny you shell out. The XUV 500 is a vigorous style statement.  Two versions of the vehicle will be available, the W6 and W8 in both two-wheel and four-wheel drive. Base models will be front wheel drive while another version will have an all wheel drive layout with a torque on demand mechanism. The XUV500 is powered by a 2.2-litre M-Hawk engine that develops 140bhp and a whopping 330Nm of torque. The XUV 500's interior gets sporty instrument panel, elegant leather wrapped dashboard, cool box, voice-command activated centre console, lounge lighting for different mood etc. It has an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 15.1 kpl, which makes it the second most fuel-efficient vehicle in Mahindra's passenger SUV portfolio after the Bolero. Unique features of the Xuv 500 include full touch integrated audio system, hill-descent control, airbags, ABS, ESP and blower controls for the third row.

Nissan Sunny

www.small-10car.blogspot.com

Nissan Sunny remiupm sedan for India, catches the eye with well-sculpted exterior, with every line carved to perfection. Attractive and sleek, featuring Nissan’s signature grille and jewel-like headlamps, the Sunny displays a pronounced high running beltline that slopes from the headlamps, with the roof inclined elegantly to the rear, giving it the appeal of a coupĂ©. The Sunny’s USP is space, especially in the backseat. You can cross your legs comfortably even when the front seats are pushed back completely. You have to agree with Nissan’s claim that the interior space matches that of the BMW 5-series or Mercedes-Benz E-class. However, Sunny has a lot of Micra in it. Apart from the instrument panel, music system and A/C vents on the centre console, everything else has pretty much been inherited from the Micra. Behind the wheel, the Sunny impresses with its smooth, quiet ride and is adept on demanding country roads. Only the merest flutter of wind noise is noticeable even at 120 kmph, and although some road noise intrudes on rough surfaces, it’s never a bother. The 1.5 litre petrol engine develops 98 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 134 Nm of torque at 4000rpm, which makes it more powerful than many others in the segment. The meaty part of the torque is at the low end of the rev range, making it responsive and easy to maneuver. Overall, it’s hard to think of a box that the Nissan Sunny doesn’t tick.

Maruti Suzuki Swift (new)

www.small-10car.blogspot.com

Maruti Suzuki Swift (new) perhaps the most anticipated car ever? A car that had been the subject of speculation for over a year and clocked nearly 50K pre-launch bookings. When launched, Suzuki had done a commendable job of not tampering with the Swift persona while giving it a head-to-toe facelift. Every body-panel of the new Swift is spanking new. The car has an energetic and vibrant front fascia thanks to the swept-back, rather large headlamps, completely reworked grille and a smiling central air intake. If you said the Swift is identical to its predecessor, eat your words. Step inside the cabin. Apart from the gear knob and power window switches, everything has been given a chic makeover. The dashboard sports the Kizashi family look with the ‘waterfall’ central console that houses a six-speaker music system with USB support and climate control on the top variants. The new Swift is powered by the same 1.2 litre K-series petrol engine, further tweaked with the VVT (Variable Valve Timing) technology. The result: Increased power delivery of 87ps @ 6000rpm and torque of 114Nm @ 4000 rpm. The 1.3 litre DDiS diesel motor is already a champ, and so remains unchanged. However, the overall weight of the car has been reduced by 15 kg and 30 kg respectively on the Petrol and Diesel variants, boosting overall performance and fuel efficiency. The new car is 90mm longer, with a 40mm longer wheelbase. Those who quibbled about lack of ample rear legroom can now rejoice. Despite the car’s added heft, boot space is still cramped. The new Swift doesn’t launch a new era for the hatchback segment. It’s just going to continue the momentum its forerunner has built and, of course, in a terrific way.

Hyundai Eon
www.small-10car.blogspot.com

Hyundai Eon   When you think Hyundai, the word 'style' pops unbidden to mind. Whether it's an i10, Verna, Sonata or Santa Fe, the company never compromises on style and seamless finish. Underscoring this fact is Eon, the latest offering from the Hyundai stable that hit the Indian market at a jaw-dropping price of 2.69 lakh. The Eon is an amalgamation of style, comfort, utility and economy. Eon’s fluidic design has exceeded the expectations of the entry-level segment customer. Currently, Eon is available with 0.8 L iRDE engine delivering 56PS@5500rpm of maximum power and 7.65Kgm@4000rpm of peak torque. mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, the 814cc petrol engine gives a mileage of 21.1kmpl (ARAI certified) making it the most fuel-efficient car in the segment. Despite being a small car, Eon has ample cabin and boot spacein an attempt to offer high-end safety features even for low compact segment customers, Hyundai has equipped the Eon with driver’s airbag, front fog lamps and an immobilizer that prevents the car from starting without the correct key. In short, Hyundai Eon is true value for money.

Fluidic Verna

www.small-10car.blogspot.com

The Fluidic Verna boasts of futuristic looks, luxurious interiors, cutting-edge technology and premium appeal. It pioneers a host of premium and futuristic design elements based on the Fluidic Sculpture Design Philosophy. The car’s futuristic design sports a coupe like side profile, which is further refined by elegant lines. The interiors have luxurious elements and textures including two-tone beige and black high gloss interiors with wood finish. One of the unique features of the Fluidic Verna is the cluster ionizer that improves the quality of air inside the cabin by producing ion-plasma that traps bacteria and other impurities and comes into operation automatically as the AC is switched on. The rear end of the car is fitted with dual chrome tipped exhaust which adds on to the sporty feel. The Verna will be available with four engine options - 1.4 litre VTVT, 1.6 litre VTVT, 1.4 litre CRDi and the diesel 1.6 litre VGT CRDi. The Fluidic Verna is an amalgamation of practicality and quality that is more upmarket and stylish, making it a serious threat to the City and Vento.

On the shelf will be variants of its three existing models – the four-door Quattroporte sedan, its two-door GT Coupe GranTurismo cousin, and the GranTurismo’s topless version – the GranCabrio. Maserati has partnered with the Shreyans Group for the retail, and the first Indian showroom will open in Mumbai this year. Panamera

Panamera:the Panamera, has been pretty much going great guns every since it was launched back in 2009. Packing the mental performance that the Stuttgart based sports car maker is renowned for with its 911 model into a luxurious four-door four-seater certainly proved to be a winning formula. Christened the Turbo S, this new model has become top-of-the-line Panamera. The 4.8 litre, V8 biturbo charged engine now delivers 550 hp, about 50 hp more than the standard (if you can call it that) Panamera Turbo By the same measure, the torque also increases from 700 Nm to 750 Nm Launch Control, zero to 100 km/h takes just 3.8 seconds while the top speed has become 306 km/h. Chevrolet Cruze

Chevrolet Cruze:Aptly advertised as the ‘Diesel Rocket’ the Chevrolet Cruze is said to hit the 100 km/hr benchmark in just 11.4 seconds from a complete standstill. While performance, interior gadgetry and aggressive styling were the highest selling points of this car when it entered India’s growing Full-Size Mainstream Sedan market, one of the biggest factors that provoked any sort of hesitation with the purchase of this oil burning outperformer was the quality of materials that made up its interiors and the low slung roof that reduced headroom space to an extent, especially as compared to sedans like the Toyota Corolla Altis (Diesel).
USB Port for audio system.
Audio Controls on Steering Wheels
Bluetooth connectivity in audio system
Automatic Climate Control
illuminated vanity mirror
Automatic inside rear view mirror

Powering the car are the tried and proven 1.6 Duratec and 1.4 Duratorq powertrains which not only offers. in terms of visual changes between the existing Fiesta and the Fiesta Classic, the exteriors have been largely untouched, however the interior has received a new refreshed look with the addition of an Ebony and Jasper Blue coloured instrument panel, a new centre and floor console finished in graphic metallic, new seats and enhanced dual-tone door trims. the drop in overall prices is literally the icing on the cake. The Fiesta Classic is an attractive offering for those looking for an entry level sedan for the pricing for petrol variants start at Rs. 549,030 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and diesel variants at Rs. 648,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) It is offered in both petrol and diesel engine options across three variants – LXI, CLXI and SXI to suit growing customer requirements.

Honda Brio

Honda Brio: The Honda Brio could be powered by a three-cylinder 900 cc engine, perhaps a de-tuned version of the 1.2-litre engine that’s on the Honda Jazz, to offer higher fuel economy and to cut down production costs. The Brio may be equipped with a 5-speed manual and an automatic (CVT type) transmission option as well. Honda’s city car boasts a futuristic design with rear door handles fixed to the frame, as on the Chevrolet Beat. Being developed as a city commuter which is easy-to-use even in urban areas, the Honda BRIO PROTOTYPE adopts an easy-to-handle compact body (length 3,610mm x width 1,680mm x height 1,475 mm) while ensuring enough cabin space for five people achieved by highly efficient packaging. Honda Brio Prices in New Delhi shown here are indicative prices only. The Honda Brio prices of New Delhi Rs 5,00,000*

The ex-showroom Delhi price of this beautiful and powerful sedan is Rs. 1.9 Crores. This beauty can touch from 0 to 100 KMPH in about 5 Seconds and has a top speed of over 310 KMPH.

Chevrolet Captiva

Chevrolet Captiva : After the launch of Chevrolet Beat ,Chevrolet has become a major player in the Indian automobile market with appreciable sales in hand which are bow being complemented by Chevrolet Cruze. Both the small car and sedan and working together in order to bring the brand into the limelight which earlier was going unnoticed.
But what about the SUV category? For that the company has an offering called Chevrolet Captiva but the car failed to pull the customers to the showrooms. Despite being an incredibly beautiful SUV at an attractive price, it did not appeal to the customers and now the scenario is that it is struggling to survive.
Lately the company is planning to replace the car with the new 2012 Chevrolet Captiva during the second half of 2011 which is doing well in the European market and is expected to contribute its bit to the already rising sales.

Honda Civic

Honda Civic:Honda Civic has displayed its two Honda Civic concept cars at the Detroit Auto Show 2011. The Honda Civic 2012 Sedan and Honda Civic Si Coupe 2012 concept. Both the cars looks similar to the initial sketch released by Honda in the year 2010. The cars looks stunning and have a distinctive grilled and sharp smoky headlamps. The alloy wheels are also very pleasing to eyes and looks sporty. Both the sedan and coupe have been give sharp styling. The tail lamps have triangular curves and slightly extend to the side rear of the cars. The coupe looks quite attractive from the side with the two door design. The large front wind-shield and rear wind-shield are curved and merge into the roof which has been painted black to give it a real sporty aesthetics when viewed from top.

Audi A7

Audi A7:Sardinia is a really old place, and at first it feels odd to drive Audi's latest creation, the 2012 Audi A7, on roads that meander past the remains of a stone village from the Bronze Age and a 3,800-year-old olive tree that's miraculously still alive.
But Sardinians have gotten in the habit of reinventing their island over the centuries. Their latest creation is the Costa Smeralda, a gorgeous strip of coastline that's currently the No. 1 destination for millionaires from Moscow, Dubai and all points in between. You certainly wouldn't be surprised to see a high-end vehicle here, particularly if it's new and avant garde in design, as the Audi A7 is.
We don't mean to make too much of the "five-door coupe" marketing wizardry that will accompany the launch of the 2012 Audi A7 in Europe this fall and here in the U.S. next spring. This car is a sedan, in the same way the Mercedes-Benz CLS is a sedan. The difference is the A7 has a hatchback tail, so it can carry four millionaires and their luggage on a tour of the island.Of course, the beautiful vacationers would never actually want to be seen in a practical vehicle, so the 2012 Audi A7 hides that utility under sleek bodywork.

Tiguan

Tiguan:The new facelifted Tiguan 2012 will be launched at the Geneva Motor show of 2011 and is expected to run on European roads soon. After the European launch, its expected that Tiguan may make its way to India as well. The booming SUV market which with strong players like Honda CRV, Skoda Yeti, BMW X1, Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Outlander etc. has a lot of potential for the gradually growing demand for SUVs. The timelines, plans and pricing of the vehicle for India are not clear as yet, but we expect that Volkswagen would like to have its presence in this segment in India. Lets wait and watch the developments with time.

ford Focus

ford Focus:Starting in early 2011, the Focus in both North America and Europe will be the same vehicle. This is to be applauded because there was a big gap between the European Focus and the machine sold here. The European car improved on the basic goodness of the original, with better interior quality and driving dynamics. The U.S. car essentially stayed put: The original Focus was good enough to be a C/D 10Best winner, but the competition moved on, leaving the current version dead last in a recent small-car comparo. The 2012 Focus certainly looks terrific, especially in five-door form. The engineers and designers felt able to make the Focus sportier (by lowering its seating position and overall height) due to the upcoming C-Max—a tall-roof, five- or seven-seat derivative off this platform—that fulfills the family-car mission. Compared with the current U.S. Focus, the new car is 0.5 inch lower (at 58.1 inches tall) and 3.0 inches long¬er (178.0 inches overall), and it has a 1.3-inch-longer wheelbase (104.2 inches). The 2012 model’s dimensions are close to the current Euro car’s, save for a wider track and lower stance.
